When Stelliums says two planets are in conjunction, sextile, square, trine, or opposition, the core rule currently refers to the relationship between their zodiacal signs. This is intentionally narrower than a modern aspect engine that may silently combine degree orbs, applying/separating status, and multiple aspect families.
The methodological boundary
A sign-based relationship establishes that two planets occupy signs configured by one of the five traditional relationships. It does not by itself establish how close the planets are by degree or whether one is applying to the exact degree of the other.
Why the label matters
If software displays a judgment without showing which rule produced it, users cannot distinguish astronomy from interpretive policy. Stelliums therefore keeps the technique name visible and blocks advanced orb/application claims until a separate source-governed rule set is adopted.
