Topical delineation asks a focused question of the whole nativity. A place names the subject, but the place alone is not the answer. Its ruler carries the subject into another place, occupants add direct testimony, and configured planets qualify how the topic participates in the larger chart.
A seven-stage reading order
- Name the Whole Sign place and keep its full range of traditional topics visible.
- Identify the domicile ruler of the sign occupying that place.
- Follow that ruler to its sign and Whole Sign house destination.
- Record planets and governed Lots occupying the original place.
- Inspect the ruler through sign relationship, sect, triplicity, bound, face, place class, motion, solar condition, and joy as separate evidence.
- Inspect the ruler’s traditional aspects and configured reception without treating either as a guaranteed result.
- Notice which other house rulers arrive in the original place and therefore connect their subjects.
Worked method: begin with vocation
For vocation, begin with the tenth place. Name its sign and ruler, then locate that ruler. A tenth-place ruler in the third links public action with messages, siblings, local movement, or practical learning. Planets in the tenth testify directly; aspects to the ruler and reception qualify the pathway. Repeat the same ordered method for resources, partnership, health burdens, belief, or any other subject.
Why the app does not assign a topic score
Traditional testimony can be mixed. Angularity, sect, dignity, motion, solar proximity, occupation, configuration, and reception answer different questions. Stelliums preserves those observations separately so an astrologer can judge their relationship instead of trusting an opaque total.
Governed worked example
Worked example: trace vocation through the Dallas fixture
The fixture has Taurus rising, so Aquarius is the tenth Whole Sign place. Saturn rules Aquarius and is in Capricorn in the ninth place. Venus occupies the tenth directly. The vocational subject is therefore traced from the tenth to its ruler in the ninth before Venus, Saturn condition, configurations, reception, or incoming ruler traffic are considered.
- Name the tenth place as Aquarius and retain its full public-action and vocation scope.
- Identify Saturn as domicile ruler and follow it to Capricorn in the ninth place.
- Record Venus as a direct tenth-place occupant without replacing the ruler pathway.
- Add condition, configurations, reception, and connected houses as separate testimony.
Carry the hierarchy into topical judgment
Topical Natal Testimony Report version 2 begins with the operative luminary and its day, night, and participating triplicity rulers, then documents the exact configurations and complete reception testimony behind every Whole Sign place ruler.
Follow the complete domicile chain
A topic ruler may itself answer to another domicile ruler. The expanded dossier follows that chain to a self-domicile ruler or closed cycle, while keeping place, condition, configuration, and reception evidence in separate lanes.
Does the ruler witness its own place?
After locating a place ruler, compare the ruler’s sign with the sign of the place it administers. A ruler may occupy the same sign, form a traditional sextile, square, trine, or opposition back to that place, or remain averse by sign. This answers whether a traditional sign relationship connects the administrator back to its subject; it does not answer the whole topic by itself.
Carry enclosure into the topic through its ruler
Each topical dossier now retains adherence, nearest-body enclosure, and seven-degree ray enclosure centered on the place ruler. These records qualify the ruler’s configuration context while remaining distinct from the place, destination, condition, reception, and ruler-to-place regard.
