Historical reconstruction of a scholar measuring directed arcs on a twelve-place diagram toward seven distinct destination markers. — Formula plate
**Each Hermetic Lot transfers a directed arc from its source points to the Ascendant.**
The seven Lots form a governed set of formulas, not free-floating symbolic points. Sect can reverse the order of source points, so every result must preserve direction, formula provenance, zodiacal longitude, house, and ruler.Editorial reconstruction. Exact calculations and doctrine are governed by the lesson and versioned Stelliums rules, not inferred from the image.

A lot projects a directed zodiacal distance from the Ascendant. Paulus preserves a coordinated set associated with the seven visible planets rather than a loose catalog of interchangeable points.

Two formula families

Fortune and Spirit measure between the luminaries in opposite directions.
Eros and Victory use Spirit with Venus or Jupiter.
Necessity, Courage, and Nemesis use Mercury, Mars, or Saturn with Fortune.
Every directed pair reverses in a night chart.

Governed worked example

Worked example: verify formula direction before reading a Lot

The fixture is a day chart, so Spirit directs from the Moon to the Sun and projects that arc from the Ascendant. The normalized result is about 11 degrees Virgo in House 5.

Confirm sect before choosing formula direction.
Identify the exact directed pair in the governed Paulus set.
Project the directed arc from the Ascendant and normalize the result.
Record longitude, sign, Whole Sign house, ruler, formula, and rules version together.

Method note

Stelliums separates cited historical or scholarly material, computational rules, and interpretation. A published article does not silently change calculation logic; engine and rules changes remain independently versioned.
