The prenatal syzygy is the exact Sun-Moon conjunction or opposition immediately before birth. A conjunction is the prenatal new moon; an opposition is the prenatal full moon. Stelliums calculates the event itself and keeps it beside the natal chart as a distinct chronological fact.
What the workbench preserves
- The exact UTC event time and Julian day.
- How many days the event preceded birth.
- The Sun and Moon at their exact tropical geocentric longitudes.
- Each luminary sign, natal Whole Sign place, and traditional domicile ruler.
- The target phase angle, one-second solver precision, and residual error.
New moon and full moon records
At a new moon, the two luminaries share essentially the same ecliptic longitude and therefore the same sign, natal place, and sign ruler. At a full moon, they are exactly opposite and occupy opposite signs and natal places. Stelliums preserves both degrees in either case.
Governed worked example
Worked example: Dallas 1990
The frozen Dallas reference was born on January 15, 1990. Its preceding syzygy is the exact full moon of January 11 at 04:56:48 UTC, 4.5647 days before birth. The Sun is 20°42′ Capricorn in natal House 9, ruled by Saturn; the Moon is 20°42′ Cancer in natal House 3, ruled by the Moon.
- Identify this fixture as a full moon because the luminaries are exactly opposite.
- Preserve the Sun in Capricorn House 9 and Moon in Cancer House 3 as separate placements.
- Follow Saturn and the Moon to their natal placements and condition before forming a synthesis.
A disciplined reading order
- Name the phase before interpreting it.
- Keep both luminaries visible rather than reducing a full moon to an unlabeled single degree.
- Follow each sign ruler to its natal placement and condition.
- Compare the occupied places with sect, topics, rulers, and repeated testimony.
- Return to the complete nativity before forming a conclusion.
