Planetary condition asks how a planet is situated, not whether it receives a single good-or-bad grade. This first governed phase reports four sign relationships for each of the seven traditional planets: domicile, exaltation, opposite domicile, and depression.
Four relationships, kept separate
- Domicile: the planet occupies a sign it traditionally rules.
- Exaltation: the planet occupies its traditional exaltation sign.
- Opposite domicile: the planet occupies the sign opposite one of its domiciles.
- Depression: the planet occupies the sign opposite its exaltation.
Why there is no score
These relationships can overlap. Mercury in Virgo, for example, is both in domicile and exaltation. Stelliums preserves both facts instead of forcing them into a points total. A later judgment must also consider sect, house, configurations, motion, and other separately governed conditions.
The exact boundary of Phase 1
This phase does not calculate triplicity, bounds, decans, solar visibility, phasis, bonification, maltreatment, or a composite strength. Traditional exaltation degrees are retained as source references, but no degree-proximity claim is made.
Governed worked example
Worked example: keep sign-condition testimony discrete
Two placements in the fixture show why dignity evidence remains separate. Saturn is in Capricorn, its domicile, while Jupiter is in Cancer, its exaltation.
- Saturn in Capricorn records domicile testimony.
- Jupiter in Cancer records exaltation testimony.
- Neither record erases house placement, sect relation, motion, solar proximity, or configurations.
