Domicile Rulership and House Rulers
How traditional sign rulers connect one Whole Sign house to another and create the structural pathways of a natal chart.
Traditional domicile rulership assigns each zodiacal sign to one of the seven visible planets. In a Whole Sign chart, this creates a ruler for every house.
- Aries — Mars
- Taurus — Venus
- Gemini — Mercury
- Cancer — Moon
- Leo — Sun
- Virgo — Mercury
- Libra — Venus
- Scorpio — Mars
- Sagittarius — Jupiter
- Capricorn — Saturn
- Aquarius — Saturn
- Pisces — Jupiter
Why ruler placement matters
If the ruler of one house is placed in another house, the first house’s topics are structurally carried toward the second. For example, a ruler of the second placed in the tenth connects resources and livelihood with public action or vocation. This is a structural relationship, not a promise of one specific event.
