The transit biwheel places the seven traditional planets for one exact UTC moment around the saved natal wheel. It answers what is moving now, where it falls in the natal houses, and which traditional sign relationships are present.
Read the biwheel in four passes
- Confirm the selected nativity and UTC sky timestamp.
- Read each transit planet by exact longitude, sign, and direct or retrograde state.
- Locate the transit in the natal Whole Sign house to identify the life area receiving current emphasis.
- Inspect transit-to-natal relationships, then compare degree distance and motion evidence without turning them into guaranteed events.
Keep the evidence layers separate
A sign-based configuration establishes a traditional relationship. Degree distance describes how close the two planets are to the exact geometry. Relative speed can show whether that geometry is tightening or separating. None of those facts alone predicts an outcome.
Use timing hierarchy
Current sky becomes more useful after the natal structure is understood. Annual profection can identify an activated place and time lord; the transit workspace then supplies current testimony without rewriting the natal chart or collapsing separate techniques.
Governed worked example
Worked example: preserve a timestamped evidence chain
Open the fixture in Transits and select one explicit UTC moment. The natal Taurus house frame remains fixed while Swiss Ephemeris calculates a separate seven-planet sky for that timestamp.
- Record the selected UTC timestamp and calculation versions.
- Place each current planet into the fixed natal Whole Sign houses.
- Establish traditional transit-to-natal relationships by sign.
- Add exactness and motion phase, then prioritize the annual time lord without promising an event.
Separate annual relevance from degree proximity
Today answers two different timing questions. The annual-relevance lane finds a current contact involving the profection time lord. The near-degree lane finds the closest exact or applying traditional contact within the governed three-degree threshold. A wide time-lord contact can therefore be annually relevant while another contact is closer in degree.
- Read the profected place and time lord first.
- Follow the time lord to its natal place and current Whole Sign house.
- Read the annual-relevance contact as part of the birthday-to-birthday frame.
- Read a distinct near-degree contact as measured proximity, not automatic importance.
- When one contact satisfies both lanes, preserve both reasons but count and explain the contact once.
Worked example: two lanes, two questions
Suppose Mars is the annual time lord. Transiting Mars applies to natal Sun but remains 8.50 degrees from exact, while transiting Saturn applies to natal Moon at 1.25 degrees from exact. The Mars contact occupies the annual lane because it involves the time lord. The Saturn contact occupies the near-degree lane because it is applying within three degrees.
Place the active month inside the annual year
Today now carries the same subordinate monthly profection already exposed in the professional timing ledger. Divide the birthday-bounded annual period into twelve equal durations, advance one Whole Sign place per subdivision, and name that sign’s domicile ruler as the monthly lord. Read this place and lord inside the annual place and time-lord frame, never instead of them.
- Begin with the annual place and time lord.
- Locate the active equal-twelfth monthly period.
- Read the monthly place as a narrower subject emphasis.
- Follow the monthly lord through its natal position and current Whole Sign transit house.
- Record the annual and monthly factors with lived events for later Past Echo comparison.
